Growing up in the Golden Isles
We were driving home from the Arizona mountains, talking about our plans to expand our business, when it dawned on us. This wasn’t an option, it was a calling. An unshakable feeling down to the very last cell in my body that we had to share our passion for hospitality and our sleepy little island with the world. We had no idea, in that moment, that our lives would change forever. Or even more shockingly, just how much it would change.
Picture this… Growing up in the Coastal Lowcountry lent itself to constant exposure to the most hospitable of hosts. They knew every need before I even knew it would be needed. They were warm, generous, and quick to comply with any need. Their homes were welcoming, relaxing, and filled with beauty. And when incidents happened, they were quickly remedied without fuss. I always knew I’d have a wonderfully rejuvenating time at their home, before I even arrived, and I couldn’t wait until I returned again.
Now, let’s go back to the car… we we were talking about our plans to expand, we realized that instead of looking locally in Arizona we could go HOME to our sleepy little island and re-create these experiences for our children AND for our guests.
These experiences shaped my love of hospitality as a young girl, which influenced the way I welcome guests into my home to this day, how our children have grown to welcome guests into our home, and it certainly influenced how we serve guests in our homes in our short-term rental hospitality business. We want them to have each of those very same experiences beginning with their first touch point with us, throughout their stay, and even in our followup… leaving them filled with the desire that this is a home they want to return to. And that we, and every member of our guest experience team, leave them feeling they were welcome, valued, and wanting to return time and time again.
I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to fill our guests memory banks with unforgettable experiences in our beloved Golden Isles Getaways.
Welcome to your home away from home. Stay as long as you’d like. Again and again.
